This book is dedicated to all those students who, no matter what their level of expertise, spoke out in class or approached us on the side to ask us about basic XMLconcepts. It is difficult, we know, to find time to become familiar with the basic concepts of a new and unfamiliar technology like XML, especially when our colleagues already seem to be “in the know.” We thank them for their courage and dedication, and for pointing us in the right direction regarding topics to present in this book.
