Description ,review and table of contents of ANTIPATTERNS Identification, Refactoring, and Management : This book is primarily intended for IT and software engineering managers (at all levels) and team members. Therefore, many of our points are illustrated with vignettes from those domains, as well as with others from movies, television, and literature. We contend, however, that the lessons contained herein are broad enough to be adapted to any work environment — indeed, wherever there is group interaction to achieve a goal such as in professional societies, churches, nonprofit organizations, and clubs. We know from some of our reviewers that our antipatterns apply equally well to educational environments, health care, manufacturing, and construction, to name just a few.

Vector Analysis for Computer Graphics

Vector Analysis for Computer Graphics

Product Description

Vector analysis is relatively young in the history of mathematics, however, in the short period of its existence it has become a powerful and central tool in describing and solving a wide range of geometric problems, many, of which, arise in computer graphics. These may be in the form of describing lines, surfaces and volumes, which may touch, collide, intersect, or create shadows upon complex surfaces.

Vector Analysis for Computer Graphics provides a complete introduction to vector analysis, especially within the context of computer graphics. The author shows why vectors are useful and how it is possible to develop analytical skills in manipulating the vector algebra. Each topic covered is placed in the context of a practical application within computer graphics.

The book is divided into eleven chapters covering the mathematical foundations of vector algebra and its application to lines, planes, intersections, rotating vectors, vector differentiation, projections, rendering and motion.

 Photosystem I

Photosystem I

Product Description

This book summarizes the advances made in the last decade in the biophysics, biochemistry, and molecular biology of the enzyme known as Photosystem I, the light-induced plastocyanin: ferredoxin oxidoreductase.

This volume is a unique compilation of chapters that include information on molecular architecture, protein-pigment interactions, excitation and electron transfer dynamics, protein-cofactor interactions, kinetics of electron transfer and bioassembly of proteins and cofactors.

The volume begins with a series of historical perspectives that provide a solid background to the field, and ends with information on modelling of light-harvesting and electron transfer reactions, and the evolution of the reaction center. Particular attention is paid to spectroscopy, including the theory of the measurement and the interpretation of the data.
