Hi, everybody !

KnowFree.net has been established nearly a year. At the outset, it is just my hobby to share some interesting ebooks, then the site is growing bigger and bigger.  Actually, I had the wish to improve KnowFree.net for a long time ago. The problem is that I am just an amateur at programming(I am doing a Bachelor of Commerce), and only me could not develop a complete system even I have some useful experiences at PHP, Javascsript and xHTML/CSS. As the result, you could see that, KnowFree is messy, contain many bugs, and somehow not really user friendly.

Someday ago, I was very surprising and happy when receiving a kind suggestion from Aiko to help me improve the site. He such a kind person, he just want to make KnowFree better and more useful to everybody. Then, we have some discussions and preparations to the project. We are planning and make a schedule to improve the core of KnowFree, make it easier, more powerful and more flexible to everyone. You could take a look a something is going on here.

Till now, there are only two member in this project, me and Aiko. I wonder that whether or not I can find any help from KnowFree members. I guess that there are  a lot of talent guys, who own wonderful computing skills, in our community (or I am wrong ?). So, if you only spend about one or two hours to help us, we are really grateful. At the moment, we are doing on BaseCamp, it is very convenience and flexible for an international team work.We are doing things related to Ajax, Javascript, MySQL and PHP, however anyone, who want to join, you are more than welcome.

Finally, the reward is that your names will be remembered  by at least 80000 members of KnowFree.net (the exact number is 85707), we could make more friends, develop skills about web programming, team works and developing  a community.

Hi everybody,

You may aware of the downtime of KnowFree.net recently. The reason is that  I have changed the server, the old one is nearly overloaded with the big number of visits daily. I hope this is better for now.

Also, two important bugs were fixed:

1. Can't be accessed in Opera

2. Private Message in the Fourm doesn't work

As you may known, our forum has just been opened ,and till this moment we have 3 very enthusiastic moderators:

1. ilcfloran will take care Networking section

2. lovepc will take care Programming section

3. aiko.onedan  will take care Design section

They are working so hard to support our community. So, why you still stand out of the game ? Let join now .

My goal is that we could establish a group, and develop our community as well as our site better and better. Moreover, I hope that we could use the knowledge from books on this site to build some kinds of open source or free applications or some non-profit projects for the community ( I am still thinking of this idea, but not find any out-standing idea yet ).

As I promised in the previous posts, the forum , now has been established. However, it is still in trial progress, and still not competed yet, so I really need you contributions such as ideas and opinions to make it better. Till now, I am only the admin to manage the whole forums, so if any one is really (please, REALLY ) interested, please let me know, and you could be a moderator for this new community.

My philosophy is that the forum will be the place, that after you read books, you practice and you get some troubles, some interesting experiences, some awesome techniques and want to share with everybody on KnowFree, you could find a good place to do that. Books are good, but practical knowledge and experiences are also much important. That is my wish when establishing the new forum. I considered to process this even I had this idea for a long time, just because I worry that nobody will join, but at the moment, I think I should try and believe in this community.

Beginning your new posts her (Need to log in first)

Hi everybody,

Firstly, I would like to introduced a new feature on KnowFree that, all authors will get notifications whenever his/her contribution are approved o be published on the front page. I also need to emphasis that even all of contributions are welcomed and recognized but not all posts will be approved, it must comply with the guideline.

At the moment, KnowFree has more than 83000 members, and the number is increasing daily. Everyday, I got many comments and request for books. I really want to respond all of them, but I have not enough time to do so. Then, I think that, I should open a FORUM for you guys to discuss, and help each others not only on sharing ebooks but also technical issues such as programming, database design, networking … However, I need to make sure that the new forum will be useful and active for all members, so please let me know your ideas such as:
    - Whether or not I should open the forum ?
    - Which topic you guys want to discuss ?
    - Will you enjoy the forum ?
    - Suggestions ?
    …..

Hello guys,

Firstly, I really appreciate Don for his information about the porn link on KnowFree.net. After going around, I found that those links came from Imagemule.com after the images was expired. So, please STOP using this kind of service when you contribute materials on KnowFree.net. Keep the site clear and clean. 

I also received many complaints that RSS is not working any more. I am so sorry for this inconvenience, I am trying to fix the problem.

Finally, I was able to get back the whole KnowFree.net. If you are reading these lines, this means you are visiting the latest version of KnowFree.net after many problems last time. The site is recovered about 95%, there may be some small problems somewhere, and I am trying to find and fix them. So, please inform me if you find something wrong.

You might see that the site KnowFree.net had been down during 2 days. The main reason is that the number of visitors is increasing, and the old server can't handle anymore. As the result, I need to upgrade and move the site to another one, which is more powerful. The bad thing is that my administrator, forgot to make an announcement to you. Please inform to your friends that KnowFree.net is up again. I have added some more features for you guys also, Shoutbox is an example.

One more thing is, we have the new small banner for link exchange.

Hi everybody,

Recently, I have received many complaints because of dead links in posts. I known that it made you uncomfortable and unhappy at all. Actually, I often go around,  download somethings, and I was disappointed too if I got some dead links. However, please sympathize that I am the only one to manage the whole website, from designing, coding to, uploading, and posting and moderating your contributions. I can't have enough time to re-upload everything. I will try to upgrade my internet connection speed sooner to upload faster and make more mirrors. In the meantime, I hope that if anybody, who was able to download, could provide mirrors to the late coming people. Much Arppreciated.
